About the event
Following our creative partnerships with Nuits sonores and Coachella, selected artwork from the festivals, along with new works, travelled to La Gaîté lyrique in Paris. This stunning new art space reopened in March 2011 as an international cultural institution dedicated to digital arts and new music.
We billed musical acts like Squarepusher, Glasser, Lumpens. Along with performances from Yuksek, Adam Kesher, Acid Washed, and a DJ sets from Jamie xx, MYD and Panteros 666.
We collaborated with artists like Quayola, Ernesto Klar, SoSoLimited, Electronic Shadow, Yoshi Sodeoka, and Trafik to exhibit multimedia installations. We also curated a number of interactive works from artists like David Bowie, Mick Rock, Barney Clay, and Mark Essen, including an installation of our Arcade Fire LED beach balls and Black Dice‘s video art from Animal Collective’s Coachella set.
We presented a variety of panels and workshops featuring artists like LAb[au]. And we also showed film screenings including the French premier of Spike Jonze’s Scenes From the Suburbs, along with work from Animal Collective, Adam Traynor, and Chilly Gonzales.
